Frank J. Komenda
Former Senator Frank J. Komenda is a 16-year veteran of the Maryland House of Delegates and the Maryland State Senate. Mr. Komenda was elected to the House of Delegates in 1974 and served on the House Economic Matters Committee. He was appointed to the Senate in 1981, elected to the Senate in 1982, and re-elected in 1986. From 1991 until his retirement in 2001, Mr. Komenda had a distinguished career as Associate Vice Chancellor for State Relations for the University System of Maryland. In this capacity, he was responsible for the representation of the governing board of the system and its 13 member institutions to the Maryland General Assembly. Mr. Komenda attended George Washington University in Washington D.C. and took courses with the University of Maryland overseas program while serving in the U.S. Army, Office of the Army Attaché, American Embassy in Paris, France. He is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Business and Public Administration. |
